Why Canada?
Studying in Canada is one of the most popular pathways for Ugandan students, and for good reason. Canadian institutions offer high-quality education, post-study work opportunities, and a welcoming environment for international students. Tuition is generally lower than in the US or UK, and the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) lets you stay and work for up to three years after you graduate.
The four phases of a Canadian application
1. Choose the right institution
Match your programme, budget, and city preferences. PEC partners with Niagara College, Thompson Rivers, Cape Breton, Georgian College, Trent, Confederation, Yorkville, University Canada West and more, so we can shortlist based on your background and goals.
2. Prepare your documents
Academic transcripts, IELTS or equivalent, statement of purpose, references, and proof of funds. Canadian institutions are strict on completeness, so we double-check each pack before submission.
3. Apply for your study permit
Once you have a Letter of Acceptance, you apply for the study permit. The Student Direct Stream (SDS) is the fastest route for Ugandan applicants and we walk you through every requirement, from the GIC to the medical exam.
4. Get ready to fly
Accommodation (we partner with Canada Homestay Network), arrival logistics, opening a bank account, and SIN. We brief every student before departure.
